NHS Eye Examination
This appointment is for an NHS Eye Examination and will take between 30 and 45 minutes. Please be aware that if you are over 60 years old, your Optometrist may use drops to dilate your pupils. It is advised that you don't drive following this. Everyone in Scotland is entitled to an NHS funded eye examination every 2 years. If you're unsure if you're entitled to one please call the practice on 01592 751460.
Enhanced Eye Examination
An Enhanced Eye Examination includes an OCT scan in addition to what is included in an NHS eye examination. OCT (optical coherence tomography) produces a 3D image of the retina and optic nerve. This allows our Optometrists to gain more insight and diagnose a wide range of eye conditions before they become a problem. There is a £25 fee for this type of appointment. Please be aware that if you are over 60 years old, your Optometrist may use drops to dilate your pupils.
